Hello, everyone. My name is Annabella Wee, 24 years old from Kuching and I'm a Chinese Kenyah. Thank you.

That's what I need to say each time there's a self introduction. Let me take you to the in sights of the pageant from the very beginning till the final day itself. ;D

So, it all began a few days before the 7th November. Lenny buzzed me over MSN and asked me to join this pageant. I was like... I'm old! But somehow, she managed to convince me. And so... There I was, registering on the 7th November.

94 girls turned up on that day and I saw a few of my friends too! Glad to have seen them there or I would have been a lone ranger.

Bla bla bla. And in the end, only 18 were selected!

No. 1 Annabella Wee Siew Mui
No. 2 Rita Berry
No. 3 Cynthia John
No. 4 Ordella Edwin
No. 5 Priscilla Paya
No. 6 Jennifer Denis
No. 7 Cornelia Jonek
No. 8 Rajinder Kaur
No. 9 Donavie Juvinia
No. 10 Livonia Ricky
No. 11 Darcia Marsely
No. 12 Durin Edward

No. 18 Anglia Hendry

When it comes to rehearsing our dances, I am like omg... It's always... -No. 1! What are you doing?- I never like rehearsals cos I know I can't dance. Lol. So scary. XD

Skip all those for another day.

Ok, I guess everyone's been saying that we've been doing Tiger shows etc. Well, please understand that we're just the contestant and that we know nothing about the pattern of our clothes etc. Not all ladies joining the Miss World/Universe, wearing bikinis/swim wears are -naughty-, in a sense.

Despite what everyone says, well, in act of defense, I must say, you don't actually get to wear something like that every time. Some don't even have a chance to wear such rare animal designed dress in their living years, so I'm just lucky to be one of the finalist. ^^

Right, so want to know more behind the scenes? Catch the next blog from me soon as I'm soooooooooo sleepy now. Well, going to play Tales of the Abyss before going to sleep. Heheheh.

Whee!

After being in the battlefield for 65 days, I've finally made it! I'll be flying tomorrow. Tomorrow will be my initial flight. Due to the cold I had last 2 weeks ago, I wasn't able to particiapte in the IOE, so.... I hope things would go smooth tomorrow.

Having problems finding a place to stay right now. I hope things would go smoother by next week as well. I don't believe bad luck will storm upon me that bad cos I'm a good girl! :D

Leaving Kuching was a blessing... Minus the extreme heat here... >.>

I wasn't culture shock but was annoyed at the ignorant, phlebs that I've met. I don't really like some of the attitudes practiced here. They are so backwards. Not even part of practising culture but a pretty much closed mind set.

Good things did come my way as well.

Met a funny, hilarious girl, Shalu. She's cool and has a natural humour in her. Not forgetting that she looks like a black. Not trying to be offensive but she doesn't look Indian. All due to her afro hair. Ha ha.

Another Bidayuh girl, Emi, her name. Reliable friend and nuts! And we're currently having problems finding a place to stay! We're now stray cats. Argh! XD

My first impression of Emi, oh man, I thought she was one of those girls that I do not like. Seems like I was wrong. :D

And her boyfriend, Rin. First impression... Mat Rempit!? Ha ha. I know I judge people quickly but I judge them forever that way NOT! He's a bully, a low-toned guy and cruel! :D Whenever talking to him, I feel deaf. I can't hear a word he say at times. Lol.

I know I am good when it comes to judging people cos when I first met Nas, Rin's best friend, I thought he was a drug addict, Mat Rempit as well as a sampah masyarakat. Lol. Blame me not. But he turned out to be a good guy instead. The guy actually brought me to Malacca! So cool.

Anyway, time for me to reply my messages on my phone. ;)

Happy Gawai, people.

There'll be more of me to come soon.

Remember, during the day of the interview, you need to list your phone number as well as your email. It's essential. I communicate more through email with the person-in-charge though. Fast and precise.

Like any other companies or certain jobs, being a Cabin Crew needs commitment. Challenge doesn't start on your first day of training, but it starts as soon as you get the phone call/email saying that you've been selected.

They will schedule a time where you need to attend their briefings on the new Cabin Crew intake.

Challenge 1: Surety/Guaranto

Yes... This is actually the most difficult thing to do. You need to be geared up for this. You will need to find TWO sureties. Yes, 2. TWO.

Ok, you may think finding 2 Sureties/Guarantoes are easy. Fine. Secondly, they need to be 45 years old and below. YES. Age matters!

Some relatives may help but most won't. This is a tied agreement and no one wants to be tied down cos they are at risk, IF you happen to quit after 2 years.

Oh yea, and the bond is for 2 years.

Challenge 2: Medical Examination

It's actually easy. The only challenge here is to take your faeces specimen. Google the word faeces if you don't know what it is. Good luck in your techniques to acquire it. Hahahaha.

Challenge 3: Bank Account.

You need to have an account with either Maybank or CIMB. I have none. I do have CIMB but it's inactive. Failed to reactivate it. I'll have to sign up for a bank account in KL instead.

Challenge 4: Accomodation Provided NOT.

Yes... This is what fears everyone. Unless if you're in luck.

During the training, accomodation will only be provided for a fortnight. After that, you will have to rent a place to stay on your own.

Trainings are held in Kelana Jaya. Workplace, well, it's in KLIA, of course.

I hope to be able to find one soon though.

That's all for the challenges!

Most may be happy due to the acceptance to work with MAS but at the same time, they'll be leaving home. Common issue here.

As for me, I am neither happy nor sad. Ok, I lied. Well, I am happy that I'll be leaving home soon. Why? Cos I want to start my own life. I want to build my life. I don't want to be staying with my family forever.

Being apart of MAS is a blessing. You get discounted travel fares and this is what I need. I imagine having a few days off, visiting my Dwayney one day. <3

For now, it's a long distance relationship. But I know that the distance will crumble some day... And that some day is soon.

I attended the Malaysian Airlines MAS interview last year, in December 2008. The crowd was a WOW to me. People were lining up all the way from the entrance!

Requirements:
1. Female: At least a 157 cm.
Male: At least a 165 cm.

2. Credits in 5 subjects, at least, including Malay, English and Maths, if not mistaken.

Right! So, those are the basic requirements that you need to know. Next would be the stages conducted during the interview.

Stage 1:
1. Get the form and fill it in. Forms are available at the counter. You need to line up after that to have your height measured.

2. After your height's being measured. you'll need to get ready ALL your certified copies of your certificates and hand it over to those behind the registration counter. Your SPM slip is important, mind you. Don't forget to show your Identity Card too.

3. You will be directed to a room. This will be your waiting area. Mineral water in bottles are usually served but self-service, people!

Stage 2:

1. A few names will be called out. About 5-6 names. Your interview will be conducted in a group. Please ease yourself earlier because you won't want to irritate the personnels conducting/assisting in the interview.

2. Sometimes, you may need to wait outside the room before your group is called in. Once it's your/your group's turn, just enter. Greeting the interviewer is normal. I don't know you but I'm used to greet people. So, it's a common thing for me.

3. Sit.

4. You need to RELAX. The room/place is cold. You'll be shivering for sure. I'd suggest you wear something that is able to keep you warm and comfortable.

5. Interview starts by introducing yourselves. Take it easy. SMILE alot! You can show the jovial side of you. As long as you're able to talk without stammering or having that frightened looks.

6. Interviewers will definitely ask about places of interest. Remember, think out of the box. Throw in odd places which, of course, does make sense as one of those tourist attraction.

7. Discussion ends. You will be directed back to the waiting room/hall.

In the waiting hall, you may need to wait while the interviewers evaluate your performance. Once the result is out, your name will be called out. Those who made it and those who had not made it will be called out in 2 different groups. Eg. 4 names called out will be informed that they have failed to the next round. The remaining 2 will proceed.

Stage 3:

This is a Grooming Session.

1. Height and weight will be measured and weighed again. They will check your BMI to see if you're in good proportion.

2. Your hands, face, neck and heel will be checked. I forgot if your legs are checked as well. Lol. Anyway, you just need to show them your hands. Make sure you do not have too many scars. That's important. Tattoos isn't allowed as well.

Tips: For those who worries much because they have too many moles, don't you worry. Confidence brings out the person in you. ;)

I have an obvious mole on my neck though but I got through the test. XD

3. Ok, you will then... Walk. Yes. Walk a straight line. Honestly, I don't know why. Ha ha!

Poor me but they remeasured me 3 times! Made my heart thumped for being special. Ha ha.

4. The lady will inform you if you've made it to the next round.

Stage 5:

1. Like Stage 2, you will be called in a group again. It's the same thing like what you've experienced in Stage 2. The same group interview. A topic will be thrown in for everyone to discuss. Don't just sit and be quiet. You need to participate! Or, what I'm trying to say is that, you must fit into the group and conversation.

2. Back to the waiting room. Names will be called out and I THINK this is also part of the elimination.

Stage 6 aka. The Last Stage:

1. Ok, I thought at this very last stage, it would be an individual interview but it seems like it wasn't. I don't know but my friend who was also there with me had a one on one interview, whereas I was again, in a group of 5.

2. Here, you need to communicate well with each other as well as with the interviewer. A question will be thrown at you. Why do you want to be an air stewardess? I think you need to work out on this question though. The answer is quite simple for me. Why? It has always been my childhood dreams to be one. So, there I was, fulfilling my dreams.

I was feeling terribly cold in the room. I was shivering. Shaking. Trembling. Not because I'm nervous but because it was TOO COLD! My mind froze. I became speechless and eventually I told them that I can't talk because I was cold. EXTREMELY. Well, I did talk. It's just that, I forgot what to introduce about myself. XD

The End.

It's not that much of a torture. Don't worry. I was surprised that there wasn't any swimming test or something. Haha. Results will be out in like 2 weeks. They will contact you via e-mail or a phone call. Surprisingly, I've not received anything from them yet. :/

Anyway, stay cool and relax during your interview. Take it as a challenge. It's something you don't get to do every time in your life.

I'm BACK!

Well, it's good to see that people still drop by this blog of mine.

The silly one, who calls him or herself ShameonU seems to be an idiot himself. Or most probably he's a FAKE psychic assuming that I've stopped blogging.

I do have a life beyond the internet. I wonder if any of you know as well. Anyway, I'm busy with my other blogs so... Shame On You who assumes! Hahaha.

Right, skip those.

Had a great time in KL with Odil and her sisters last week. Oh, the funny experiences!

AND CONGRATS ON YOUR CONVOCATION! <3

And this coming Wednesday... Singapore, here I come!!!!!!!!! :D
