And so....

Off we went to Kampung Pueh, Sematan, on the 5th April. Thank God it was a good bus. An air-conditioned bus but still, I was having my motion sickness. @@ I can never be in a vehicle for long, UNLESS if I am the driver. Lol.

Aight! So we departed from the Sarawak Tourism Complex at about 10.20 am. The journey to Kampung Pueh was tiring. Thank God I had my smelly pillow and my big pillow with me. They are so reliable in times of need. XD

Pillows > BoyfriendS. :D

Our first stop was at Gerai Tuan Haji Bujang. There, we were served Ayam Masak Merah. Jeez... Direct translation would be Chicken Cooked In Red? Lol. They also served Curry Fish, Prawns and ummm... Watermelon, as the dessert.

I was hungry at that time so I kind of like ate 5-6 of the prawns. Talk about being a Beauty Queen. HAHAHAH. Got fed up eating the food there and I wanted something else. There was a little shop opposite the little restaurant, so we all went there and to my surprise... A BAKERY!!!! :D

Like always, I rushed into the Bakery and sought for my favourite food. Unfortunately, the food there seems normal. Nothing catchy to my eyes but still, I bought some stuffs there and RED BULL, which is a must. Went to the next shop and had a corn ice-cream.

And so, the journey continues. In less than 10 minutes, we arrived Kampung Pueh but ummm... The bus stopped outside instead. So we had to walk all the way in. @@

I saw the Miss Fair and Lovely buntings from afar. So yea, we got the right place. An old man, who was standing outside the Longhouse, greeted us in an unknown language to me. They call the language, Selako. But it sounds more like a chanting-greet. Upon entering the Longhouse, he threw paddy on us. Well, just a few grains. It's called Rice Blessings. All hail the rice! XD

Yea. So we were assigned a Foster Parent each. Some of the folks had 3 foster kids/beauties -Heheheh- whereas some had 2. So our Foster Mother was Mdm. Jahya. Oops, when I mentioned our, I meant Shyila and I. Man, I don't know how to spell her name. @@

We were sent to our rooms, IN the Longhouse itself. And I seriously thought there was a chalet or something for us. Sigh. But what amazes me was that the toilet, although it's the squatting type and the flush wasn't working, but it's still clean. Their toilet didn't smell one bit. My salute!

O God. So it was drizzling and we were off to the Paddy Field to harvest a little there.

Timeout! You guys should listen to FrannoBaz's voice on YouTube. He's really one talented guy. I love his voice... <3

Ok, so walking from the Longhouse to the field is like 3 km. It's FAR, I tell you. FAR! For someone like me who never exercises, well, it kills! Even harvesting the paddy to fill the basket we carried is like forever to me.

But what I like best when we were at the field was the freakin cool scenery! You can actually see the mountain from the field. And I can't recall the name of the mountain! @@ I love the misty view of the mountain with the dark clouds hovering its sky. It's like having an angry mountain overlooking the field, protecting her from the harms and dangers from every corner.

Anyway, after harvesting, we went back to the Longhouse, gathering all our harvest on the floor, on the mat. Then, we step on them! Not stomping on them though. It's like rubbing the paddy against your feet to remove its husks. Which results in redness! For me that is.

Picture time!

By the way... Opera music is good. God, I'm classic...

Izora's Legs! XD

My turn to step on the Paddy.

Picking what's left...

Ok, so this is the part where you -fan- the paddy to seperate the rubbish and husk. XD

I can never do it. Lol. It can never go flying high up in the air like the others do.

Zaini playing the I'm-Not-That-Sure-What-That-Is.

A Bidayuh dance!

M. Nasir's Mentees singing Semerah Padi -As Red As Paddy-. I love the translations. Lol.

Me with a Little Girl.

Look at my leg! Notice the spots? It's caused by the Paddy. I wonder when will it go away. >.<

:/

Pictures of my legs were taken an hour ago.

Up Close And Personal with my Red Spots. @@

Oh, my Foster Mother gave me this! Basically, it's a rattan-made handbag. :D

Up Close Pattern. And yes, it's hand made.

OH YEA! I spotted a PIG in the village. My first time seeing one but the pictures aren't that clear. :/

I wanted to go as near as possible but I am afraid that it'll chase me so I decided to take the pictures from afar. Lol.

Time to go! Time to sleep.

NIGHT!

Next up, Talent Anggun on the 26th April. I await this day badly. XD

And during the one night stay at Kampung Pueh, I really do miss my computer a lot. Saturday... A day that I won't want to be out of the house. Especially during the night. I miss my Knightey. :(
