And so....
Off we went to Kampung Pueh, Sematan, on the 5th April. Thank God it was a good bus. An air-conditioned bus but still, I was having my motion sickness. @@ I can never be in a vehicle for long, UNLESS if I am the driver. Lol.
Aight! So we departed from the Sarawak Tourism Complex at about 10.20 am. The journey to Kampung Pueh was tiring. Thank God I had my smelly pillow and my big pillow with me. They are so reliable in times of need. XD
Pillows > BoyfriendS. :D
Our first stop was at Gerai Tuan Haji Bujang. There, we were served Ayam Masak Merah. Jeez... Direct translation would be Chicken Cooked In Red? Lol. They also served Curry Fish, Prawns and ummm... Watermelon, as the dessert.
I was hungry at that time so I kind of like ate 5-6 of the prawns. Talk about being a Beauty Queen. HAHAHAH. Got fed up eating the food there and I wanted something else. There was a little shop opposite the little restaurant, so we all went there and to my surprise... A BAKERY!!!! :D
Like always, I rushed into the Bakery and sought for my favourite food. Unfortunately, the food there seems normal. Nothing catchy to my eyes but still, I bought some stuffs there and RED BULL, which is a must. Went to the next shop and had a corn ice-cream.
And so, the journey continues. In less than 10 minutes, we arrived Kampung Pueh but ummm... The bus stopped outside instead. So we had to walk all the way in. @@
I saw the Miss Fair and Lovely buntings from afar. So yea, we got the right place. An old man, who was standing outside the Longhouse, greeted us in an unknown language to me. They call the language, Selako. But it sounds more like a chanting-greet. Upon entering the Longhouse, he threw paddy on us. Well, just a few grains. It's called Rice Blessings. All hail the rice! XD
Yea. So we were assigned a Foster Parent each. Some of the folks had 3 foster kids/beauties -Heheheh- whereas some had 2. So our Foster Mother was Mdm. Jahya. Oops, when I mentioned our, I meant Shyila and I. Man, I don't know how to spell her name. @@
We were sent to our rooms, IN the Longhouse itself. And I seriously thought there was a chalet or something for us. Sigh. But what amazes me was that the toilet, although it's the squatting type and the flush wasn't working, but it's still clean. Their toilet didn't smell one bit. My salute!
O God. So it was drizzling and we were off to the Paddy Field to harvest a little there.
Timeout! You guys should listen to FrannoBaz's voice on YouTube. He's really one talented guy. I love his voice... <3
Ok, so walking from the Longhouse to the field is like 3 km. It's FAR, I tell you. FAR! For someone like me who never exercises, well, it kills! Even harvesting the paddy to fill the basket we carried is like forever to me.
But what I like best when we were at the field was the freakin cool scenery! You can actually see the mountain from the field. And I can't recall the name of the mountain! @@ I love the misty view of the mountain with the dark clouds hovering its sky. It's like having an angry mountain overlooking the field, protecting her from the harms and dangers from every corner.
Anyway, after harvesting, we went back to the Longhouse, gathering all our harvest on the floor, on the mat. Then, we step on them! Not stomping on them though. It's like rubbing the paddy against your feet to remove its husks. Which results in redness! For me that is.
Picture time!
By the way... Opera music is good. God, I'm classic...

I wanted to go as near as possible but I am afraid that it'll chase me so I decided to take the pictures from afar. Lol.

Time to go! Time to sleep.
NIGHT!
Next up, Talent Anggun on the 26th April. I await this day badly. XD
And during the one night stay at Kampung Pueh, I really do miss my computer a lot. Saturday... A day that I won't want to be out of the house. Especially during the night. I miss my Knightey. :(
Do you think you can beat this guy?
Sit back, relax and LAUGH. XD

Ugh, ANYWAY... I had a stiff smile. The muscles around my mouth was going stiff! XD
Now these pics are pictures of us, the Finalists!
http://edwinlay.multiply.com/photos/album/145
I was hoping not to get into the Finals due to the heavy and tiring schedule of rehearsals but omg, I was selected. But I always had the feeling right before I joined this pageant that I will be going to the Finals. :/
And going to the Finals means I'll miss my Saturdays since lots of events will be held on Saturdays. And missing my Saturdays means I won't be seeing my Dwayney! >.< Can't believe love can be so torturing. Hope this Pageant is over soon cos I really want my Saturdays back. :(
Anyway, I'll reveal the adorABEL me. ;D I love this picture the most!
Q & A session. My legs were trembling so badly. I wasn't nervous but the 3 inch heels were killing me. @@
This was the part I was announced as one of the Finalist.
And this part... Look at No. 14. We were smiling-talking and she was actually going. Oh My God. And I was like I Know... My Saturdays are GONE! :/ Lol.
CANDID!
Forget about my face. Look at my hair... PREDATOR!!!!!! XD
And now... My everyday look....
Bad quality. I know. :/
Bee Glasses!.jpg)
Aren't I FAT?! :D
Well, that's all for the night and it's ALL about me. :D
Our next activity would be a Visit to Kampung Pueh or Pueh Village, in English. And we have to overnight there. What I fear the most is.... MY SATURDAY NIGHT WILL BE TAKEN. OMG!!!!!
I want my Knighty!!!!! >.<
RIGHT!
So it's time again for the Miss Fair & Lovely event happening in the capital of Sarawak, Kuching! :D
Quite a number joined and guess what? I WAS ONE OF THEM. LOL! XD
ANYWAY, about 50+ or 60+ were called for the first pre-preliminary round. Perhaps you're wondering what was it all about then. Well... LET ME TELL YOU!
Waiting outside, along the hallway, with the hot weather and such was already a challenge. Sigh. The first preliminary round was all about TALENT! Besides introducing yourself and such. Each contestant were required to SING and DANCE.
Yup. So if you fail to do so or if the judges themselves are not impressed, them red card for you. A Red card means, Sorry. Bye bye. A Blue card instead, means Come back for the next round.
How did I do? Well, I'm a confident person. I don't nervous over such things easily. So I walked in with confidence. Saw a little arrow on the floor, in front of the judges and in my mind, I was thinking, Oh. So I should be standing here.
INSTEAD, they said, Please stand behind the microphone and the people around laughed. My well-built confidence dropped to 20% then! ARGH! They asked me to sing and dance. I couldn't think of a song cos I was NERVOUS. So I sang Camelia's Rindu Padanya. It sounded horrible though. Then they asked me to dance. There wasn't any song played so I was like, What the heck. So I tried doing the Kenyah dance but it seemed so wrong and one of the judges comments were... You dance like a snake. LOL. Eventually I got a Blue card! XD Time then was exactly 12 PM.
Right so the next one would be at 2, since I was chosen for the second preliminary round. And so, the weather was hotter than before. FYI, we were not waiting under the sun. So, when they called me in, I think they were trying to shorten the whole thing so they asked me to ask questions instead. ^^
After everyone was interviewed for the second time, we were all called in. Made a semi-circle and one of the judges announced our names one by one. Those who were not called were eliminated while those whose names were called, WILL be contesting in the Semi-Finals. :D
These are the chosen ones.

^ This page lags me a lot! @@
For your info, I never look good in photographs. Just see anyone whose picture look imperfect with an odd facial expression, it must be me. Sigh...
Updates will be posted when I'm not tired. The training tires me. @@
So stay tuned. :D
